ENC-SIM01 -
Plant Control and Automation Pty Ltd
This instrument is designed to simulate the function of most types of incremental encoders; it allows the engineer to fully test a control system that uses a rotary or linear shaft encoder, without the need for any mechanical movement.

HUBDISK-1 -
U. S. Digital
US Digital offers a wide variety of standard hub / disk assemblies (optical encoder disks attached to an aluminum hub) to aid with mounting on a shaft. Encoder disks may also be ordered as a stand alone item (see the Disks page). These rotary encoder disks are made from mylar polyester film. This material allows for a wide temperature range and is virtually unbreakable.

A2K -
U. S. Digital
The A2K absolute encoder is a non-contacting optical rotary position sensor which reports the shaft angle within a 360 deg. range. As opposed to incremental encoders, the A2K reports the absolute position rather than the change in position. When powered up, it does not require a home cycle, even if the shaft was rotated while the power was off. In multi-turn mode, it tracks the position in a 32-bit counter as long as the power supply is maintained. Internally, an infrared LED flashes through a circular bar code onto a linear array sensor. The microcontroller decodes the image into a unique position. All user programmable parameters such as resolution, origin, direction and mode are permanently stored in an internal EEPROM

Campbell Scientific, Inc.
Campbell Scientific offers a variety of sensors to measure water level, stage, and flow: pressure transducers, shaft encoders, radar ranging sensors, sonic ranging sensors, and bubblers. Users often select their sensors based on the site location, required accuracy level, and ease of installation.

An optical encoder is an electromechanical device which produces an electrical signal output proportional to the linear displacement of a linear guide or the angular position of an input shaft.Open encoders are exposed and feature no external integrated enclosure. The advantages of open optical encoders include the effective elimination of backlash, shaft wind-up (torsion) and other mechanical hysteresis errors.A rotary open optical encoder consists of a position measurement readhead and an accurate rotary scale marked either on the periphery of a ring or on the face of a disc. The readhead measures position by optically sensing the regularly-spaced scale markings and outputs this information as an analogue or digital signal. The signal is subsequently converted into a position reading by a digital readout (DRO) or motion controller.

Laurel Electronics, Inc
Accepts low-level differential or single-ended 5 V logic level quadrature signals from shaft encoders to display scaled position or scaled rate. One, two or four transitions may be counted at a maximum combined rate of 250 kHz and be mathematically scaled to display in engineering units from -999,999 to +999,999. An analog output scaled to the display and relay outputs are optional.

Modes include zero-cumulative-error Ratio-Follower (electronic gearing) and zero-cumulative-error Index-Follower (mechanical event/phase synchronization). Features include Forward-only and Forward/Reverse settings for uni/ bi-directional control, multiple setpoints and many programmable contact-closure input and NPN output functions. Builds numerous machine synchronizing / follower processes. Works with quadrature incremental shaft encoders (all modes) and prox, photo-eye and other presence/event sensors (Index-Follower mode).
